Trip to California Aerospace Museum

Al and the scouts from Troop 959 visted the California Aerospace Museum at McClellan Field on February 6, 2010. They were able to see many historic planes and see how the motors and engines actually work. Al was especially impressed with the Blue Angel Demonstration Plane and also the DC3 that flew during D-Day (see above).

Utah Trip

Allan and Delcia just returned from a trip to Utah to see Jilyn and Andrew in their new apartment. And we can report that they are doing very well. They are both attending LDS Business College and taking full loads. We also were able to see LDS General Conference, although only on TV as we could not get tickets for the Conference Center. We stayed at a beautiful place in Snowbird, Cliff Club Condiminiums, 8,000 ft. elevation. This place was five star all the way. We enjoyed the Spa and even attended a Yoga Class. Al didn't realize just how stiff he was until he saw this little pretzel teaching the class. It was fun but exhausting. We went to Temple Square, the Family History Library (Al spent most of his time here.), the DUP Museum, and the new Chuch History Museum. We saw most of the family while we were there and generally enjoyed dinner with everyone we visited. It was such a good time we are looking forward to our next visit.

Lake Tahoe Trip

Delcia and Al were at Lake Tahoe for a week in September. While there they celebrated Xander's 7th Birthday. Andy, Jenn and family came for the weekend. We had a lot of fun: swimming in the pool, the lake and the jaccuzzi. We went to the Forest Room Buffet on Harrah's casino for lunch on Saturday. We stuffed ourselves with everthing from salad to sushi. Everyone seemed to enjoy the get-together.

Jilyn Bosch and Andrew Meyer Wed

On August 19, 2009 Andrew Meyer and Jilyn Bosch were wedded in the Sacramento California Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over 30 friends and family were in attendance to witness the ceremony. Later that evening a reception was held in their honor in Georgetown, Ca. (Jilyn's hometown) where over 140 guests gave their well-wishes to the newlyweds. The first night of their honeymoon was spent at the newly remodeled Rock Creek Inn in Georgetown. An open house will be held in their honor on Saturday, August 22, 2009 in Eugene, Oregon at the home of Walt and Nancy Meyer, Andrew's parents. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

2009 Wise Cousins Reunion a Success

This year's Wise Cousins Reunion was a rousing success. Cousins from all over the western United States gathered in Canyonville, Oregon on July 25th at Stanton Park. We would like to thank all those who made this reunion possible. One of the highlights at the reuion was the Quilted Family Tree banner that helped us identify from which line we descended. Thanks again for all those who attended (approximately 65).

Happy Valentines Day

We are looking at 24 inches of snow our back yard. The storms just keep on coming. Every day I have to shovel my way to the wood shed and satellite dish. We are enjoying ourselves as long as everything works. Our self contained power and water systems have held up well during these storms.
